today's the day!

I voted today. Have you?

Last night John and I went to sleep to the sound of rain pouring down and this morning we woke up to sunshine bouncing off the bedroom walls. I think that's a good sign.

I'm also wearing my new dress and my favorite necklace -- so that can hurt either, right?

After months and months of speeches and rallies, interviews, talking heads, blog posts and newspaper columns, news reports, debates, SNL parodies and anxiously watching the poll results in the battleground states -- the day is finally here.

Since John has to be at work at 7:30 a.m. we got up early to walk together to our neighborhood polling place. I couldn't wait to get in my booth and fill in the oval next to Barack Obama's name! Ahhh so exciting! It feels really good to start your day off by voting!

I saved my voting stub because I can't wait to tell my future kids about this day. History is being made!

I don't know how I'm going to be able to wait for tonight to see the results!

I voted first thing this morning and I have been on cloud nine all day. Today is a good day, I have a cute outfit on I don't have to work and I spent all morning running around town taking pictures of the gorgeous foliage, I am going to lunch with my sister and then I am going to cuddle on the couch with my pups and watch election coverage until tonight when hubs and I are heading out for a election return party. Can you tell I am excited and in a rather good mood today?

We went to vote at 6:45 AM, and there was already a line of 50 people outside our polling place!

Whatever the outcome, I have to say I'm so excited seeing all the people coming out to vote. Even all my little 4th graders today were anxious and asking all the teachers, "Did you vote?! Did you vote?!"
